On the afternoon of April 18th, 1775, British Army forces stationed in Boston received orders to proceed, “with the utmost expedition and secrecy, to Concord to SEIZE AND DESTROY… ALL ARMS, MUNITIONS, AND STORES…” That evening, Paul Revere alerted Colonial militia of approaching British forces before the battles of Lexington and Concord.
