(06/11/2018) Phoenix, Arizona – Patriot Ordnance Factory is proud to announce taking home the Rifle of the Year award from the 2018 Firearms Industry Choice Awards for a second year running. POF USA was honored to attend and thanks everyone involved in the awards process, as well as congratulating the other winners.
The Renegade+ is a departure from the original vision of Patriot Ordnance Factory, who is known for being a pioneer in the piston MSR category of rifles, and for still having the most reliable and feature-packed piston driven MSR on the market. Historically, there was much debate on whether or not POF-USA would or should even enter the Direct Impingement market. However, Frank has never been one to back down from a challenge, and in true POF-USA style, the Renegade+ took form.
Built on the unique and fully ambidextrous Gen 4 lower, and produced with 100% American made raw materials and coatings, the Renegade+ and Renegade+ SPR with its 18.5” stainless barrel are clearly several steps ahead of the majority of the MSR market. The upper receiver is built around the unique heat sink barrel nut, the 9 position adjustable DIctator gas block, a match-grade accurate 18.5” .223 Wylde barrel, and features our Renegade M-Lok rail with 4 QD sling mount points.
Finishing what is already an impressive rifle is the Ultimate DI bolt carrier group with High-phosphate nickel coating, a roller cam pin, and features a one-piece construction with an integrated gas key. The rifle also features the Tomahawk ambi charging handle.

The Renegade Plus is built on the POF-USA Gen 4 billet lower receiver which has completely ambidextrous features. The barrel is 16.5” long; nitride heat treated, has a heat sink barrel nut, our patented E² extraction technology and is topped off with our Triple Port Muzzle Brake. We use the Dictator 9 position adjustable gas block with straight gas tube to drive this rifle. The brain of the Renegade Plus is the POF-USA Ultimate Bolt Carrier Group which is NP3 coated, features an integrated key (no gas key screws required) and has the POF-USA Roller Cam Pin upgrade installed from the factory. The Plus model utilizes our newly released FLAT trigger which is a 3.5lbs match grade, single stage drop-in trigger system complete with KNS Precision anti-walk pins. The Renegade handguard is 15” long, has integrated QD sling mounts at the 3 and 9 position on both the front and back of the handguard and is completely M-LOK compatible.
POF-USA is excited to announce that we have partnered with Mission First Tactical for the furniture on this new rifle. The stock is the Mission First Tactical BMS- Battlelink Minimalist stock which significantly helped us obtain our goal of making this rifle less than 6.5lbs.
